Trent Concrete wins unique college contract
Trent Concrete is set to deliver an unrivalled visual aesthetic to the City of Westminster College's ambitious Paddington Green site redevelopment. Some 1,500m2 of white reconstructed stone cladding and 2,000m of projections, cills and additional features will be designed, manufactured and installed as part of a £1.7 million contract with main contractor, Verry Construction Ltd.
The multi-million pound redevelopment aims to create an excellent, 'state-of-the-art' campus in the heart of Westminster, with facilities to support the College's growing range of courses. Designed by leading Danish architects, Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects, the inspirational HQ will also accommodate a range of amenities for the local community, including a nursery, theatre and café.
The result will be a stunning white façade that blends with the architect's minimalist and modern vision. The combined force of Trent Concrete's design and manufacturing capabilities and pre-cast concrete means all units will be produced off-site in safe, quality controlled conditions.
Verry Construction can expect fast production times and an impeccable level of efficiency that will provide the project with the most cost-effective solution of receiving the exact visual appearance desired.
Trent Concrete is due to start on site in April 2009 and the project is expected to be completed, ready for the start of the new 2010 term in September.
